Year 12, 13 or 14? Thinking about studying a qualification in Food? Attend a Taster Day at CAFRE – Loughry Campus, Cookstown on Tuesday 11 November 2025 from 9.30am to 2.45pm.
Join us for an interactive day that mimics the life of a Loughry Food student. Attend a lecture, participate in food practicals, and meet our current students. The Taster Day will offer you a great insight into studying at Loughry Campus, to further develop your interest in food.

Courses at CAFRE – Loughry Campus
After GCSEs study Level 3 Extended Diplomas in Food Technology and Nutrition or Food Technology and Science. These courses offer offers a wide range of satisfying careers and great progression opportunities to Higher Education at CAFRE.
After A-Level (or equivalent study) CAFRE offers a BSc (Hons) Degree in Food Innovation Management with pathways in Nutrition and Technology. We’re excited to share the BSc (Hons) Degree in Sustainable Agri-Food Management. Our Foundation Degree in Food Innovation and Technology is a two year course. With it you can progress on to an Honours Degree course or enter employment.
If you are considering leaving school after Year 14 to seek employment, why not consider a Higher Level Apprenticeship in Food and Drink Manufacture? If you want to ‘study first’ alongside paid employment our new Food and Drink Academy could be a tasty option for you.
Our degree programmes are validated by Ulster University and make use of the extensive food facilities we have at Loughry Campus.
