Join us at Enniskillen Campus on Tuesday, 14 October 2025 for a dynamic and hands-on CPD event tailored for farriers. Led by renowned equine surgeon Warren Schofield, this full-day session will delve into the complexities of equine anatomy and common lameness conditions, combining expert-led presentations with practical demonstrations, including live horse assessments and a lower limb dissection. The afternoon will feature interactive sessions with CAFRE Farriery Lecturers Paul Duddy and Caolan Kelly, focusing on movement analysis and shoeing strategies to support soundness and performance. This is a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding and engage in meaningful discussion with industry experts.

Meet our speakers:

Warren Schofield MA, VetMB, Cert ES (Soft tissue), MRCVS, Dip ECVS

Warren is a European Specialist in Equine Surgery with a focus on orthopaedics and racehorse care. Formerly a Lecturer at University College Dublin and partner at Troytown Equine Hospital, he pioneered standing fracture repair in horses—now a globally adopted technique that improves outcomes and welfare. Warren works independently across Ireland, performing surgery and training veterinary professionals. He is a regular contributor to veterinary conferences and has published widely on equine surgery and welfare.

Paul Duddy AWCF Paul Duddy is a highly respected Farrier based in County Tyrone and an Associate of the Worshipful Company of Farriers. He teaches on the Farriery Upskilling course at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus, where he plays a key role in developing advanced practical skills among aspiring farriers. Paul’s dedication to the craft has earned him a place in the International Farriery Hall of Fame in the United States—an honour that reflects his international impact and commitment to excellence in Farriery.

Caolan Kelly DipWCF Caolan Kelly is a qualified farrier and lecturer on the Farriery Upskilling course at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus. With a Diploma from the Worshipful Company of Farriers, Caolan brings a strong foundation in practical farriery and a passion for education. He plays a key role in training and mentoring aspiring Farriers, combining hands-on expertise with a commitment to advancing the craft across Ireland.
