CAFRE will host an Equine Breeding webinar on Thursday 2nd December at 7pm on “Preparing your mare for the breeding season”. A key factor in the success of commercial breeding is in the preparation of the mare for the breeding season and understanding the principals involved breeding management. Dr Andrea Emerson, BVSc MRCVS, will cover:
- Management factors that influence breeding success
- Mare management throughout the breeding season
- Anatomy and functions of the reproductive cycle
Andrea graduated with distinction from the University of Liverpool Veterinary School in 2014 and then completed her internship in Matamata, New Zealand. She followed her love of stud work to work in Australia, Cheltenham and Waterford before becoming a veterinary lecturer at CAFRE. Her main areas of interest are problem mares and embryo transfer.
The webinar is suitable for, Horse Owners, Breeders, Veterinary nurses, Students, Instructors and coaches.
