CAFRE invites you to attend a Clover Open Day, being hosted at the CAFRE Beef and Sheep Centre on Thursday, 5 June 2025. Three tours will be held on the day, commencing at 11:00am, 3:00pm and 7:00pm. The Open Day comes in the third year of an ongoing four-year project of incorporating white clover into the grazing swards at the CAFRE Beef and Sheep Centre and the CAFRE Dairy Centre. Join us and:
- Hear from our Livestock Technologists about the structure and performance of the beef and sheep enterprises on the CAFRE farm.
- Learn about the benefits that integrating clover into grazing swards could have for your business.
- See which methods of clover establishment have been trialled on the CAFRE farms.
- Discover how they have performed and hear about the challenges encountered with establishing and managing the clover swards.
- David Patterson (AFBI) and John Morrow (Agrisearch) will discuss practical farmer findings from the ‘ZeroNsile’ project.
- Learn about how the changes made have positively affected the sustainability of the enterprises.
- Hear about the exciting upcoming projects happening at CAFRE.
Booking is not required.
Please note this event is taking place at the Beef and Sheep Centre, located on the Oldstone Road, Antrim. Open Day car parking will be signposted.
