Advice for Students applying to CAFRE

The arrangements in place under the UK/Ireland Common Travel Area (CTA) are not dependent on membership of the European Union and in May 2019 the UK and Ireland made a commitment to maintain the rights of both countries’ citizens, that are in place under the CTA.

Therefore in the event of Brexit, in terms of eligibility and fees, applicants from the Republic of Ireland wishing to study at CAFRE in the 2020/2021 academic year will not be treated differently from Northern Ireland citizens.

How applications from other EU countries will be dealt with has yet to be established.
