Innovation Scheme
The Innovation Scheme, part of the Sustainable Agriculture Programme, aims to support farmers in Northern Ireland by providing funding for innovative projects that address challenges in the agri-food sector. The scheme includes three strands: Innovation Visits, Innovation Farms, and Innovation Partnerships, which help farmers explore new technologies and overcome barriers to innovation.
Innovation Farms
Innovation Farms aim to increase the rate of implementation of sustainable innovative practices on Northern Ireland farms. Groups of farmers will be invited to visit these farms and find out about the latest innovative practices in place.
Innovation Partnerships
Innovation Partnerships aim to support farmer‑led innovation and collaboration across Northern Ireland’s agri‑food sector, to develop and deliver innovative projects that address key challenges, opportunities, or emerging issues facing the agri‑food industry.
Innovation Visits
Innovation Visits (IVs), provide farmers with the opportunity to visit farm businesses outside Northern Ireland to learn about new innovations. Each visit has a specific theme and visits are organised and led by a CAFRE Adviser or Technologist.
