Knowledge Transfer Programmes delivered through CAFRE
The Knowledge Transfer (KT) programmes are managed and delivered by the Knowledge Advisory Service within CAFRE and directly contribute to DAERA’s objective of promoting ‘sustainability at the heart of a living, working, active landscape valued by everyone’.

Business Sustainability Groups
CAFRE’s Business Sustainability Groups will help farmers collaborate, share knowledge, and improve economic and environmental sustainability. Supported by a CAFRE Adviser, members benefit from benchmarking, analytical testing, and one to one support.

Suckler Cow Fertility Themed Group
CAFRE will soon be launching a Themed Group focused on Suckler Cow Fertility linked to the Beef Sustainability Package. This short-term initiative (up to two years) will help farmers enhance herd fertility through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Soil Nutrient Health Scheme Training
The objective of the Soil Nutrient Health Scheme (SNHS) is to test all, or the vast majority, of fields used for farming in Northern Ireland, in order to help farmers manage their nutrient applications. Training is now available to assist farmers utilise their Soil Nutrient Health Scheme soil analysis results.

Technology Demonstration Farms
TDFs demonstrate innovative technologies. Visiting farmers will see technologies demonstrated, hear the experience of host farmers and learn about the financial impact of adopting the technologies.

Farm Innovation Visits
FIVs, provide farmers with the opportunity to visit farm businesses in other parts of the UK or Europe to learn about new innovations. Each visit has a specific theme.
