Proposed Single Use Plastics (SUP) laws Northern Ireland (2022)

Following programmes such as the Blue Planet and the Wars on Plastics, there have been calls for action on plastics and there is a huge demand for change.

Restrictions on single use plastic products are proposed in the UK, in Ireland and across the EU.

New Northern Ireland laws are anticipated from 2022 that will see a range of single use plastic items being banned, some being redesigned and actions being taken to reduce the one time use of other unnecessary plastic products.
