Introduction to groundwork and safe horse handling from the ground

The Introduction to groundwork and safe horse handling from the ground course is due to commence on the 4th March and will run until the 25th March. The course will be delivered completely online over a four week period.

Who is the course for?

This course will provide participants with a good sound knowledge in the scientific principles of animal training coupled with demonstration videos on how to apply that theory when training a horse on the ground. This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in equine training including private owners, small scale breeders, animal welfare officers, leisure riders and non-equine vet or vet nurses.

Course content

The course will cover the following:

  • Horse Behaviour
  • Introduction to Learning Theory
  • Application of Learning Theory
  • Safe Handling from the Ground
Assessment

Knowledge will be assessed using online tests as participants work through the presentations
