Introduction to Equine Nutrition – Online

The next intake for the free Introduction to Equine Nutrition course is now open for registration. The course will start on Monday 5th February 2024 and will run until the Monday 26th February 2024. The course will be delivered completely online over a four-week period. Work at your own pace through our pre-recorded lectures at a time and place which suits you. Please register to complete the course before Tuesday 30th January.

Who is the course for?

This course will provide participants with a good basic knowledge of equine nutrition and is suitable for anyone with an interest in equine nutrition including private owners, small scale breeders, animal welfare officers, leisure riders and non-equine vet nurses.

Course content

The course will cover the following equine systems and some of the common conditions which affect them.

  • Digestive Anatomy
  • Digestive Processes
  • Nutrients and Absorption
  • Practical Feeding

Assessment

Knowledge will be assessed using online tests as participants work through the presentations
