Equine Grassland Management – Online

This course may run in the future if there is enough interest. Please register your interest to be notified of future dates. The course will be delivered completely online over a four week period. There will also be online discussion groups, quizzes and assessments to assist learning. Participants can access the interactive lectures at a time and place which suits them during the scheduled course.

Who is the course for?

This course will provide participants with a good basic knowledge of managing equine grassland and is suitable for anyone who manages horses or has an interest in grass and forage for horses, including private owners, small scale breeders and leisure riders.

Course content

Grassland management is an integral aspect of our horses’ environment.  The purpose of this course is to provide participants with a basic understanding of grassland management and how this can be applied in practice.

In this course, learners will be introduced to:

  • Paddock maintenance
  • Soil nutrient management
  • Forage conservation
Assessment

Knowledge will be assessed using online tests as participants work through the presentations.
