Mains of Logie Farm is a progressive arable and beef business situated on the east coast of Scotland farming 900 acres.
Comprising:
- 400 acres of cereals
- 150 acres potatoes
- 90 acres of daffodil bulbs
- 75 cow beef suckler herd
The business employs three full-time staff with up to six more at potato and bulb lifting and harvesting time. During daffodil flower picking season an additional forty people are employed.
Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive person to complete the following varied tasks, with modern tractor and GPS assistance.
- Stone separating for Potato and Bulb planting.
- Bulb windrowing/digging
- Potato Pulverising
- Grain and Grass Rolling
- Straw Baling
- Relief Spraying with Self Propelled Sprayer
- During Winter – day to day work in the suckler herd
Remuneration
Expected renumeration to be £35,000.
Consisting of: £ 25,000 basic salary for 40 hrs/week (equivalent to £12/hr).
£ 10,000 predicted over-time. This is paid at £14.50/hr and would be expected to be an average of 13 hrs/week.
In addition, rent free, there is a semi-detached three-bedroom farm cottage with oil central heating, double glazing and wood burning stove.
This is a permanent and full-time position with the possibility of progression within the business.
