The role of the Quality Control Technician is to work closely with the Business Owner, Line Supervisors and Food Safety Consultant in maintaining Quality Control / HACCP procedures on a daily basis. The role will involve the testing and examining of all produce to ensure the highest standard of quality is achieved for all customers. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environment, and quality legislation, procedures and standards in the workplace
  • Aid in the implementation and management of Food Safety and QMS
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • As part of the HACCP team, you will assist with all HACCP and Food Safety related programmes to meet regulatory and food safety requirements
  • Investigate non-conforming product and customer complaints
  • Co-ordinate with the site team to sustain and improve product quality
  • Daily testing of finished product and the co-ordination of Weekly and Monthly Micro Testing Programme
  • Monitoring of Suppliers and issue of Non-Conformance Reports
  • Conduct laboratory testing and calibration of equipment as required
  • Carry out standard Q.C. Checks and assist in the daily operation on food production lines
  • Training of production operatives on Food Safety Standards
  • Verify cleaning using microbiological swabbing techniques

Qualifications/ experience

  • Degree in Food Science or similar is desired
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in Quality is desired
  • Experience in a Low Care / High Care facility is essential
  • BRC / IFS Food Safety Certification, HACCP, EHO, Food Service and Retailer Codes of Practices and food manufacturing would be beneficial but not essential

Salary

£22,500 – £25,000 per annum
