An objective of this job description is to provide you with guidance on your main responsibilities and duties as Quality Assurance Manager in Western Brand Lisnaskea site. Please note that the information provided is not exhaustive. Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills are important. Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the job is to implement and execute plant quality programs and continuous improvements to ensure compliance with company and regulatory and other standards.  

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage the daily operations in the Quality Assurance function through quality leadership upholding company policies, specifications and regulatory requirements to maintain food safety standards;
  • Proactively engage in an ethos of continuous improvement and Quality Culture Development. Cooperate with management to implement and execute quality improvement initiatives and constantly promote best industry practices.
  • To oversee all checks are completed to ensure that the quality and safety standards, customer, BRC and all other third party requirements are met constantly and consistently;
  • To oversee that quality and production records are legible, accurate, complete, maintained, and easily retrieved;
  • To monitor raw material compliance and evaluate finished products;
  • To ensure processing specification and standard operating procedures are followed at all times;
  • To ensure quality and food safety inspections of equipment and processing areas are completed as per schedule.
  • To implement, execute and ensure quality improvements and initiatives;
  • To develop personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Company approval;
  • To undertake such other duties and tasks as may lie within the scope of this post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service;
  • To ensure the internal operations and systems comply with the BRC/ Bord Bia, and all other third party and customer requirements.
  • To liaise and assist the Technical Manager to develop, implement and continuously improve food safety management system including HACCP, traceability, policies & procedures and all other systems as required.
  • To assist in NPD process.
  • To assist in complaint investigations and corrective action implementation.

Duties

  • Signing off and closing out Non Conformance reports.
  • Collecting, analysing, reporting, trending and monitoring lab results as per company monitoring system including High Risk, Low Care, End of Life, Raw materials, air plates, water samples (this list is not exhaustive) or any other monitoring or validation checks required by the company food safety management system.
  • Investigating & getting retesting for OOs & reporting to suppliers & continuous corrective actions (Investigating trends / root cause)
  • Liaise with cleaning crew on KPI and notifications on all swabs.
  • Cooperating with lab in relation to sample submission, testing, reporting.
  • Managing QC’s & QA’s (day and evening) appointing lines and organising training, organising holidays, reviewing absenteeism, issuing disciplinary.
  • To liaise with HR department on Organising / requesting recruitment, conducting interviews and making decisions on employment.
  • To organise and complete all internal audits at frequency required by food safety management system.
  • Day to day issues on the production floor & within quality department
  • Hosting Audits, helping with close our NC’s raised
  • Internal audits and close outs
  • Daily spot checks of process v’s spec/SOP and corrective/preventive actions implementation.
  • Completing job requests from Technical staff.
