FINEA, MULLINGAR, CO WESTMEATH.

The primary role of the Product Development Technologist is to develop products through the development process from initiation to first production including bench work, taste panelling, customer presentation, carrying out trials, finished product specifications and team training for first production.

This is a full-time permanent position subject to probationary period, with full training provided.

Working week: Monday – Friday,  8am – 5pm

Duties to include:

  • Lead the launch of new products from concept to launch
  • Ensuring all new products comply with food safety and quality standards
  • Completion of finished product specifications for new products
  • Working as part of the NPD Team to facilitate handover of a new product launches to production team including recipes, QAS, shelf-life & nutritional testing, cooking instructions and other testing as required
  • Generation of pack copy and signing off of artwork when required
  • Packaging trials and reporting of same
  • Working with Supply Chain to coordinate ingredient and packaging sourcing and transit trials
  • Coordinate and deliver continuous improvement projects
  • Responsible for ensuring all new product files are up to date.
  • Working with the Technical Department, updating HACCP/Process flow in line with agreed processes/products
  • Co-ordination of in-house benchmarking and tasting exercises.

Key skills & experience

  • Third level degree in Food Science or related discipline within last 4 years
  • 2+ years’ experience in food manufacturing or in new product development environment is a distinct advantage.
  • Proven track record of taking projects from start to finish
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Candidate should be able to work on own initiative and be a keen learner
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
