Role Overview

NPD Technician role will be responsible for supporting the meat free team in safely and efficiently developing, modifying and manufacturing meat free products, samples, processes and production trials.

Main Duties

The NPD Technician will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the meat free team in developing world beating meat free products
  • Preparing, operating, cleaning and sanitising food processing equipment
  • Weighing and preparing ingredient mixes for processing
  • Take responsibility for the performance of assigned tasks in the development and production of meat free products
  • Engaging with suppliers to ensure a steady stock position for prototype and scale up production
  • Support the running of shelf life, tasting panels, prototype and scale up production trials
  • Collect and analyse data
  • Support customer presentations and aid in the promotion of our meat free products

Competencies to perform the role;

Required

  • High standards of cleanliness and the ability to adhere to strict hygiene rules
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, people and influencing skills
  • A flexible approach to working
  • Strong team working abilities but able to work with limited supervision too when required
  • Ability to use Microsoft office suite
  • Candidate must have a full clean driving license and access to a car

Preferable

  • Awareness in current market trends in the meat free area
  • Interest in food and cooking
  • Good presentation skills,( particularly  in reference to handing and presenting products in application)

Experience and Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Relevant third level degree from the following subject areas:
    • food, nutrition and health
    • food safety and quality management
    • food science/technology

Experience

  • It would be preferable but not essential if the food technology graduate has industry experience in a food production environment
