Lairage Operative- Lakeview Farm Meats

Lakeview Farm Meats are hiring a Lairage Operative. Lakeview Farm Meats began trading in May 2011 at the new production facility near Crumlin, Co. Antrim. While it is a new company, they are built upon the combined experience of its directors and highly skilled staff. They focus on sourcing the finest locally reared beef and lamb to match our customers expectations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Unloading cattle and sheep.
- Handling animals.
- Checking permits and uploading animals onto the database.
- Paperwork for the lairage.
- Checking/scanning ear tags and allocating and recording numbers.
- Tagging cattle with kill numbers.
- May be required to clip cattle in the winter months.
- Power washing the lairage at the end of the day.
- Maintaining health and safety and hygiene standard.
- Telehandler operating.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience handling cattle and sheep
- The ability to work on your own and as part of a team while maintaining health and safety at all times.
- Knowledge of NIFAIS/APHIS.
- Knowledge of animal welfare best practice.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience working in a lairage.
- Telehandler license; however not essential – training and license will be provided.
Further information
- 6am – finish (37.5 hours per week)
- Monday to Friday (no weekends )
- Essential training will be provided
- Weekly pay
