Glenarm Organic Salmon Ltd, a world-renowned producer of premium quality fresh and smoked organic salmon is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Key Accounts Manager to oversee the current and future management of our premium smoked salmon business.

The business is in a sustained state of growth, particularly in added value organic salmon products and we are looking to strengthen our marketing and sales functions by seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and commercially driven individual to deliver these functions.

The new position has the core objective to add value to our growth activities and thereby further improve the Company’s market profile and further enhance customer experience and downstream presence for our premium smoked salmon products, initially with its existing partners but also with new customers in new markets.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Managing Director and be part of the Senior Management Team which has day-to-day responsibility for the success and profitability of the business.

The Role:

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies for our premium smoked salmon business in-line with company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth.
  • Maintain, manage, and develop the existing strong relationships with customers, processing partners and suppliers, to drive increased sales and margin for the business.
  • Develop detailed market knowledge and prepare analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities.
  • Identify and realise new business opportunities and new customers and products which are well aligned to the ethos of Glenarm Organic Salmon and fit with the Company’s existing product portfolio.
  • Work in close collaboration with the MD and the Farms Director to ensure the delivery of a seamless operation and to increase efficiencies and margins.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of and implement relevant Regulations relating to the production, processing, storage, and shipping of food products.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of and implement relevant regulations, including custom and export regulations resulting from Brexit.
  • Participate in both National and International trade visits to existing and potential customers.

The Person:

Required:

  • An empathy with the ethos and objectives of the Company.
  • Commercial experience, preferably within the agri-food sector.
  • Relevant degree or other acceptable third level qualification.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • A self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is commercially aware and results driven.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • The ability to influence, build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Proven reporting, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A creative mindset with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a small team to achieve mutually agreed outcomes.
  • Proven computer skills with a high level of proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Proven experience of the development of and operating to a budget.

Preferable:

  • Knowledge of and experience in the seafood sector.
  • Staff management experience.
  • Experience of reporting to a Board.
