Graduate Packaging and Environmental Officer

Reporting to:                    Financial Controller

Job Purpose
The role is responsible for the purchasing of packaging across all product categories and maintaining the onsite environmental management system.

Job Description

• Managing and overseeing the procurement of all packaging materials.
• Overseeing the checking of orders, prices and relevant documentation and document discrepancies.
• Managing material specifications in line with customer requirements and working with NPD team to aid innovation and design new product packaging.
• Liaising with departmental managers and assist in production planning regarding the purchasing of any items.
• Ensuring stocks are at the required level and data on system is correct.
• Help maintain ISO 14001 accreditation and implement environmental policies and practices.
• Ensure Company compliance with environmental legislation.
• Act as sustainability champion and play a leading role in the Company’s drive to improve its environmental performance across all its activities.
• Undertake any other duties as requested commensurate with the role.

Person Specification

• A team player with high level of dedication but confident to work independently.
• Has strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Has excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Demonstrates strong IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Education/qualification requirements

• Office experience advantageous.
• Degree in food related or business discipline essential.
• Some knowledge ISO14001 desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
