This also helps us to meet the exacting requirements of our valued food industry customers and consumers of Lakeland Dairies produce worldwide.

Lakeland Dairies is seeking applications for the position of Dairy Advisor – Red Tractor reporting to the Member Relations Manager. The role will involve extensive travel throughout the Lakeland Dairies Northern Ireland milk collection area particularly in Counties Antrim & Derry/L’Derry.

Working within the Member Relations Division at Lakeland Dairies, this role will involve working closely with our milk producers. The successful applicant will play a key part in supporting and mentoring dairy farmers by providing relevant information, advice and assistance to ensure compliance with the Red Tractor standard and accreditation as well as other aspects of their milk production”

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Red Tractor Liaison with Lakeland Dairies milk suppliers to support and assist with Red Tractor audits.
  • Working with milk suppliers to prepare for on-farm audits
  • Assisting milk suppliers in closing out non-compliances raised during Red Tractor Audits and any queries milk suppliers may have with regard to their audit process.
  • Providing one to one on-farm advice to milk suppliers
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance at farm level
  • Assisting milk suppliers in identifying and implementing changes necessary arising from an evolving dairy industry environment.
  • Promoting uptake of best practice dairy farm technologies and sustainable farm development
  • Delivering agreed actions to meet the specific goals of our Member Relations Team.

Individual: The successful candidate must be a self-starter and a team player. In addition, strong organisational and excellent communication skills will be required.
Education and Experience: Applicants must hold a relevant third-level qualification e.g. HND/Degree in Agriculture and must have an in-depth knowledge of modern dairy farming practices across a range of production systems.
