The Forge at Enniskillen Campus
Enniskillen Campus is home to a fully equipped, on‑site forge facility that supports the delivery of practical, industry‑relevant forgework and farriery education. The forge provides a dedicated learning environment where participants can develop core metalworking skills under the guidance of experienced tutors.
The facility is used to deliver the City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Forgework and plays a key role in the hands‑on training element of CAFRE’s Farriery Upskilling Programme, enabling learners to apply theory through structured practical activity in a safe and controlled setting.
The forge is equipped with a selection of gas and coke forges, safe horse tie‑up facilities, and a well‑resourced workshop. A wide range of specialist blacksmithing tools is available, ensuring learners gain broad practical experience throughout their training. These facilities support the development of confidence, accuracy and technical competence.
