Loughry Campus Student Formal 2026

CAFRE Loughry Campus Students’ Union hosted its annual Formal on 25 March 2026. The event at the Wild Duck in Portglenone brought together students, staff and invited guests for an evening of celebration. The event was attended by students from across Loughry Campus’ range of food education programmes, all coming together to enjoy one of the key highlights of the academic year.

The function room was filled with students dressed to impress, enjoying a night of dining, music and entertainment. The Students’ Union was particularly pleased to welcome a table of lecturers and members of campus management, whose presence enhanced the occasion and demonstrated their continued support for student life at Loughry Campus.

Speaking after the event, the Students’ Union (SU) Deputy President, Katie Givan expressed pride in the hard work that went into planning the evening.

“The Formal is one of the biggest highlights of the student calendar and seeing the hall full and everyone enjoying themselves made all the effort worthwhile. We are grateful to the CAFRE staff who joined us; it really shows the strong sense of community at Loughry.”

SU Deputy President, Leah Montgomery echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of student engagement.

“Events like this bring our students together outside the classroom and help create lasting memories. The atmosphere tonight was fantastic, and we couldn’t be happier with how the evening turned out. Thank-you to everyone who supported, attended and helped make the night special.”

The 2026 Loughry Campus Student Formal once again showcased the vibrancy and unity of the Loughry Campus community, a fitting celebration for an exceptional student body as they embark on their final weeks of academic study.
