CAFRE deliver training programme in Sustainable Packaging Technology

August 5, 2021

The College of Agriculture Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) offers a bespoke training programme in Sustainable Packaging as part of ongoing support to the Food, Drinks and Packaging industries.

The content of the programme is tailored to the needs of the company with learners taking 3 days to complete the course.  Training can be completed on line, on campus or using a blended approach depending on company requirements.

CAFRE’s programme is validated by the Packaging Industry Awarding Body Company (PiABC) and on completion leaners are awarded the PiABC Level 2 Award in Sustainable Packaging Technology.

Tayto Snacks, Ireland’s leading snack manufacturer, are the first company to avail of the programme with staff completing the final work-based assessment in July.

Tayto Snacks passionately supports a sustainable management programme and the CAFRE’s Level 2 Award in Sustainable Packaging Technology is very relevant for our team”,

says Lynda Corcoran, New Product Development Manager at Tayto Snacks.

“The training will enable companies to deep-dive into how to implement sustainable packaging design into existing and new packaging development processes to ensure that the business is reducing the environmental footprint of all packaging where possible,

according to Ron Gardner, Senior Packaging Technologist, CAFRE
