CAFRE Student Charity Night In Aid Of Enniskillen Riding For Disabled A Great Success
It was a cold crisp evening but people from all over Northern Ireland came to the charity demonstration night in aid of Enniskillen Riding for Disabled Association (RDA).
The evening began with one of Northern Ireland’s leading dressage riders Yvette Truesdale. Yvette rode her horse through various movements and thoroughly engaged her audience. Yvette spoke about the importance of training and the scales of training.
After a short tea break to warm up, the evening moved on with local showjumper Peter Smyth. Peter enthralled the crowd with a series of exercises on warming up your horse together with a talk on the importance of schooling and flatwork.
Peter rode an eight year old bay gelding by Air Jordan and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats by jumping this talented horse over various types of fences. This superb evening was enjoyed by all and finished with a raffle with prizes sponsored by the local equine industry.
An Enniskillen (RDA) representative stated “We are delighted with the money that was raised by the Level 3 students at CAFRE. At around £1000, it’s a terrific amount, which will really help us in our Enniskillen branch.”
Level 3 Year 2 student, Grace Sinclair said “Not only did we have a great time running the event but we raised a massive amount of money for Enniskillen RDA. It’s lovely to see the children benefit from the money we raised. A special thank you must go to Yvette Truesdale, Peter Smyth, and all the sponsors.”
