Equine Apprentices at CAFRE

The current group of CAFRE Equine Apprentices are gaining valuable experience from their employers who are supporting these young people by providing them with opportunities to develop new knowledge and skills.  Apprentices will undertake their British Horse Society Stage Two exam early next year.

Megan Shardlow from Larne recently joined the programme.  Megan is commencing her Apprenticeship with Tom Doherty from Carrickfergus as her employer.  Megan’s job role is varied and she is keen to progress further by gaining qualifications whilst building on her portfolio of industry experience.  Tom has been very supportive providing this opportunity for Megan and is looking forward to seeing how she will develop during her Apprenticeship.

Would you like a career with horses or are you currently employed in the industry and would like to further your training?

If you have answered yes to any of the above then the Level 2 Apprenticeship in the Equine Industry, may be for you.  We are still accepting applications for this programme with the first training block scheduled for week commencing October 28th 2019.  Applications can be made through our on-line service.

Do you have employees who want to update their training, or are you are interested in supporting an Apprentice in the future?

If you have answered yes to any of the above please contact us with queries or encourage your employees to apply on-line. There are practical and financial rewards for employers supporting Apprentices.

Students will develop skills and gain a recognised qualification whist employed in the industry.  They will come to CAFRE Enniskillen Campus for short training blocks approximately four times per year with regular contact from course tutors.  This gives students the unique opportunity to earn while they learn.
