Students thoughts were focused on jobs, careers and career progression at the recent horticulture careers forum.

 

Paul Mooney Head of Horticulture welcomed Katie Price and John Collum from Writtle University College to the horticulture careers forum looking on are Foundation Degree Students Callum Burnside, Peter Allen and Cameron Beggs.

The first industry speaker was   Michelle Folliard from Acheson and Glover who outlined the many opportunities in creating “the outdoor room”.  She was followed by William Moore from Sap Landscapes gave a brief resume of his career to date and the wide range of career paths that the company can offer. For those wishing to progress their academic studies Katie Price and John Collum from Writttle University College outlined the progression opportunities.

Paul Mooney Head of Horticulture urged all the students to talk to all the industry representatives attending reminding them that today’s conversation could be tomorrows opportunity.

Paul Mooney Head of Horticulture welcomed Laura Lukosiute and William Moore from Sap Landscapes to the horticulture careers forum looking on is Foundation Degree Student Kellie Harris and Sarah Campbell and Tiernan  Kelly who are on the extended Diploma in Horticulture.

Afterwards students visited the stands which included employers looking to recruit people, companies offering placement services and organisations promoting additional education training or  volunteering opportunities.
