CAFRE goes to Coca-Cola!

Loughry’s National Diploma programmes in Food are a perfect combination of theory based learning and practical based experience, ensuring students fully understand all aspect of food manufacture. Part of this is understand in how the classroom theory is transferred to the workplace. The close links that CAFRE have with the food and drink industry in Northern Ireland help to support this learning through a range of visits to various food and drink businesses.

National Diploma food students from Loughry recently visited Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company’s state of the art processing site at Knockmore Hill, Lisburn. At Coca-Cola, the students were able to learn how the business has been able to overcome challenges to become environmentally friendly. The students also learnt about the long history of bottling this famous beverage in Northern Ireland and how it is a truly local product, sourcing all the water for their products from local sources.
