Star-spangled MSc for CAFRE students

Michigan State University has been home to two College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) students, Rachel Kelly and Áine Ní Cheanainn, this summer as they work towards completing their theses for the Masters (MSc) in Business for Agri-Food and Rural Enterprise (BAFRE). After a year spent studying at Loughry Campus, CAFRE, Rachel and Aíne jumped at the opportunity to experience a different culture while researching an area of their interest.

Commenting on the programme while completing her MSc project in the USA, Áine stated “This Masters programme has contributed greatly to both my personal and professional development over the past year. What truly sets this programme apart from others is the opportunity to apply theory in real life case studies and tailor your study to your particular line of work.   It has been a fantastic opportunity for me to spend time at Michigan State University and complete my Masters research here.

Living and learning at Michigan State University has provided the students with many benefits and advantages, which will help them to stand out from the crowd in today’s competitive employment marketplace. Rachel Kelly added “Over the past year the programme has developed my interpersonal and management skills. This has enabled me to progress my career. It has also been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study abroad and live in a different culture while making new friends along the way. Having the chance to broaden my C.V. with this experience, will be critical in pursuing my future career.”
