Well known speaker gives lecture to Veterinary Nurses at Greenmount

Students on veterinary nursing courses at CAFRE, Greenmount Campus were really excited when they knew that Nicky Trevorrow BSc (Hons), PG Dip (CABC), RVN , Behaviour Manager for The Cats Protection League would be coming to the College to deliver a lecture.

She delivered a very interesting lecture on the often overlooked and complex topic of feline behaviour. She provided information on a variety of topics, such as feline stress, environmental enrichment, dominance myth in cats, and kitten socialisation which were really well received by all of the students.

One of the students Suzanne Logan who has a keen interest in cats said “it was a real privilege to have someone of the standing of Nicky come to Northern Ireland to deliver such an interesting and informative talk”

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, over the last five years they have helped more than one million cats through their re-homing and neutering programmes. They re-home and reunite over 46,000 cats and kittens a year through a nationwide network of 29 adoption centres, over 250 volunteer-run branches and two homing centres. They also promote responsible cat ownership with various education projects and run comprehensive neutering programmes involving approximately 170,000 cats every year. Their vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

The lecture given by Nicky was part of an on-going series of lectures given by top visiting speakers to level 3 students on a range of subjects.
