Communication student wins UFU award
29 July 2010

Michelle Millar (Craigavon) was the recipient of the Ulster Farmers’ Union Award at the recent graduation ceremony at Loughry Campus, CAFRE. The prize is given to the student achieving the highest marks in the first year of the postgraduate communication course. Michelle is the Senior Marketing, Communications and Recruitment Officer at Southern Regional College and she is completing the course on a part-time basis. She took time out from an enjoyable graduation ceremony to reflect on her experiences during the course;

“In my job, good communication is vital to ensure that our College attracts potential students and highlights the achievements of current students. This course has given me a range of new skills and has increased my confidence. It was a really nice surprise to hear that I had come out top of the class this year; I have really enjoyed the first year of the course, and the chance to study a hands-on valued Masters so close to home with classes in the evening is fantastic.”

The College of Agriculture Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) in conjunction with Queen’s University Belfast, provides a range of courses in Communication, including Postgraduate Diploma and MSc programmes. Courses are available on both a full and part-time basis and start in September 2010. For more information Freephone 0800 0284291 or come along to our open evening on Thursday 26 August.
