  • CAFRE/Northern Ireland Horse Board Equine Breeding Seminar
    The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) is organising a seminar on Equine Breeding in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Horse Board. This seminar will be held on Tuesday 14th February 2012 at the Conference Room, the Meadows Equestrian Centre starting at 7.30 p.m.
  • Level 2 Apprenticeship Students in Agriculture Gain Essential Skills Qualification
    The Level 2 Apprenticeship in Agriculture offered by the College of Agriculture, Food & Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) provides students with a high quality education in practical job related skills while working on the family farm or on an approved work experience farm. Courses are offered across Northern Ireland and are delivered by staff from Greenmount and Enniskillen Campuses.
  • Merial contribute to veterinary nurse training at Greenmount Campus
    Students on veterinary nursing courses at the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise, Greenmount Campus have many opportunities to learn of the latest developments in animal care and veterinary nursing.
  • Gain qualifications in Racehorse Care whilst working in a yard
    CAFRE, Enniskillen Campus aims to enrol the first students on a new programme, a level 2 Diploma in Work based Racehorse Care, in February 2012. The aim of this programme is to provide students, who are working within the family equine business or in an approved work placement within the equine industry, with practical job related skills and with a broad knowledge of matters relating to Racehorse care.
  • Meet the Workforce of the Future!
    This year, 2012 marks the Centenary for CAFRE's Greenmount Campus and a series of events have been organised throughout the year to mark this occasion. One such event is a Student Work Placement / Careers Event which is planned for February 29th 2012 in the Greenmount Resource Centre
  • Students visit Meadowview Rehabilitation yard
    Students on the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Equine Management at CAFRE’s Enniskillen Campus study Horse Rehabilitation and Therapy as an option in their first year. This part of their course gives them a better understanding of rehabilitation programmes used when a horse suffers an injury.
  • Renewable Energy Event
    Following the success of the Practical On-farm Renewable Energy event at CAFRE's Greenmount Campus a similar event will be held at the Enniskillen Campus on Wednesday, 22 February
  • Equine students visit Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary
    First year students on the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management at the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) Enniskillen Campus recently visited Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary. This field trip was organised in conjunction with two modules studied by the students on this programme - Horse behaviour and welfare and Undertake and promote Animal Health.
  • Horticulture/Floristry Club Centenary Summer Event 2012
    Joint Horticulture/Floristry Club Centenary Summer Event Visit SAP Nurseries, Cahir and Bloom Flower Show 2012, Phoenix Park, Dublin Thursday 31 May - Friday 1 June
  • Students design poultry product
    Moy Park has thrown down the gauntlet and invited food degree students from CAFRE’s Loughry Campus to develop and pitch an idea for a product to its new product development team.
