- Landscape students score top marks in Skillbuild
Horticulture students from the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise scored top marks in the Skillbuild competition held recently in Portadown. The team comprised students Stephen Robinson from Glarryford and Matthew Irwin from Maghera, both are studying the full-time National Diploma in Horticulture at Greenmount Campus

As part of their practically based courses at Loughry Campus, National Diploma students have been manufacturing Easter Eggs and through researching this tasty topic they have discovered some of the beneficial properties of chocolate.

Horticulture students from The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) visited the Botanic Gardens in Belfast. Hosted by Colin Agnew, the students were given a guided tour of the palm house and tropical ravine

This week 9 pupils from Co. Antrim schools visited The Landscape Centre at Dunadry to meet with owner, Kay Campbell, to find out what the latest trends in gardening will be for summer 2009. All the pupils study Horticulture as part of the vocational enhancement programme at the Greenmount Campus of the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE).
- Sister Act on Loughry Food Course
Sisters Claire and Donna Warrington share an interest in the Food Supply Management Degree course at Loughry Campus after the students had been asked to contact friends and family to inform them of the range of food programmes on offer at the campus and have the chance of winning an iPod.

Enniskillen students recently made a trip to Kildare to visit the Turf Club headquarters and then to Michael Halford’s state of the art training stables near Kildangan.
