Northern Ireland Equine Conference

Tuesday 20 March 2012, Armagh City Hotel

The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) is organising a conference for the equine industry in the Armagh City Hotel on Tuesday 20 March 2012 commencing at 7.15 pm.

The theme for the conference is ‘Promoting Health and Performance in the Equine Athlete’.

Topics to be covered should be of relevance to those with Thoroughbred and/or Sport Horse Interests. Dr Annette Longland, Equine Livestock Nutrition Services, Wales will speak on ‘Feeding quality forage to Performance Horses’. Mr Hugh Suffern, MRCVS will discuss ‘Developments in diagnostic techniques for the Equine Athlete’. Mr Dermot Forde, MRCVS will share his knowledge and experience in relation to ‘Drugs and the performance horse’. Mr Andrew Oliver, MRCVS will talk about ‘Getting the Performance Horse fit’.

Admission to the conference is free of charge and all those with an interest in horses are very welcome to attend.
