New Graduate Certificate in Food
02 September 2010

In today’s competitive job market, many graduates in Northern Ireland are supplementing their existing qualifications to enhance their personal, academic and career prospects. The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise at Loughry Campus, Cookstown, is offering a unique opportunity for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) graduates to further develop their skills and knowledge in order to enhance their career prospects.

The new Graduate Certificate in Food is an ideal programme for non-food graduates, who wish to achieve a food qualification which is validated by the University of Ulster.  The programme, which commences in September 2010, consists of three modules namely Food Manufacture, Lean Manufacture plus either, Quality Management or Strategic Business Management.

John Courtenay, Programme Manager, states, “at Loughry Campus we have developed the Graduate Certificate in Food to meet the needs of prospective students. We recognise that full time study is not an option for everyone and have developed this programme to be studied on a part time basis to enable students to combine study with work, family and other commitments.”

If you are an existing STEM graduate and would like further details on either the Graduate Certificate or other part-time food programmes, please contact us at Loughry Campus on Freephone: 0800 0284291.
