Invite to Northern Ireland Pig Event

The Northern Ireland Pig Event 2009 will be held at AFBI, Hillsborough on 16 September. The event will consist of a mixture of talks, poster displays and demonstrations. There will be two sessions on the day, one commencing at 10.00 am, the other at 6.00 pm. Both sessions will be identical and you can choose which time suits you best.

The display Liz Donnelly and Mark Hawe, CAFRE are organising will help you answer the following questions:-

  • How does the performance of your unit compare to the Northern Ireland average?
  • Is the quality of your pig carcases as good as it could be?
  • How much does it cost to produce a kilogram of pigmeat?
  • How can you reduce energy costs on your pig unit?
  • How can you check if your pig houses are providing the right environment for your pigs?
  • What new technologies will help you improve performance and profit?

The NI Pig Event is a ‘one stop shop’ for all involved in the pig industry. We look forward to seeing you at the event in Hillsborough on the 16 September.
