Have a Rose Garden Picnic at Greenmount

On two occasions over the next month, the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise will open the gates of Greenmount Campus (Tirgracy Road, Antrim) to provide members of the public with the opportunity to enjoy the fabulous Richardsons Walled Garden, DARD Rose Garden and extensive landscaped campus grounds. The gardens will be open on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August as well as 20 and 21 August. College staff will be on hand during the weekends to answer gardening questions and to give advice on the full range of horticulture educational courses offered at the campus. The DARD Rose Garden containing over 50 award winning varieties and some 1,300 bushes should be at its best during this period. On the 6 and 7 of August a colourful display of cut roses will be displayed giving visitors the chance to experience the incredible colours and scents of these plants at close quarters and avail of advice on growing roses from experts. Admission will be £5 per car. Visitors are welcome to explore and enjoy the extensive campus grounds and nature trail. The opening times will be 10:30-5pm on Saturdays and 1:00pm- 6 pm on Sundays (with last entry one hour before close). For further information telephone 028 9442 6601
