Crowds Flock to Greenmount Campus Open Evenings
10 May 2010 Over 330 potential students attended the recent Open evenings at the Greenmount Campus of The College of Agriculture Food and Rural Enterprise. Demand for places on all the Horticulture and Agriculture programmes was high. However staff stressed to the potential students the importance of getting applications in early and achieving at least the minimum entrance requirements as places are limited. Greenmount offers courses in Horticulture, Agriculture, Rural and Countryside Management, Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Nursing and Floristry. This broad spectrum of programmes reflects the diverse range of career opportunities in the Land based sector. It is no longer just about cows, tractors and growing crops. The land based sector encompasses so much more; such as sales, marketing, advertising, pharmacology, microbiology, commodity trading, teaching and research and development to name but a few. Greenmount’s graduates are the proof that a land based qualification offers tremendous employment opportunities not only in Northern Ireland but across the world. Self employment by establishing your own business is also a key opportunity particularly in the Horticultural sector. For details on all the courses on offer at Greenmount Campus email enquiries to: enquiries@cafre.ac.uk or freephone: 0800 0284291.
