Bursary Awards for Loughry students
28 April 2010 O’Kane Poultry, Ballymena has generously awarded two bursaries to Food Technology Degree students Zita Blair, from Cookstown and Ciara McAllister, from Ballymena. Both students are currently studying for their honours degrees at Loughry Campus, College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise, in Cookstown. Ciara and Zita are delighted to have been successful in the challenging selection process as there was stiff competition from other students for the lucrative bursaries. Both Ciara and Zita have previously completed a National Diploma in Food at Loughry proving to O’Kanes their commitment to higher level studies combined with a keen interest in the food sector. The bursaries which include excellent work placement opportunities as well as a very generous financial reward will certainly help the students with their studies and potentially open doors for future employment. As companies continue to face increasingly challenging times, the need for highly competent staff is imperative to help ensure a sustainable future in the dynamic food manufacturing sector. O’Kane Poultry is pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to Loughry Campus students and wish them both all the best with their studies. If you are looking for a career in a fast moving industry and are interested in finding out more about the wide range of courses on offer at Loughry Campus please contact us on Freephone: 0800 0284291.
