- Communication student wins UFU award
Michelle Millar (Craigavon) was the recipient of the Ulster Farmers’ Union Award at the recent graduation ceremony at Loughry Campus, CAFRE. The prize is given to the student achieving the highest marks in the first year of the postgraduate communication course
- Top of the Farm for Greenmount and Queen's Graduates
Students from the Agricultural Technology Degree recently celebrated their graduation day at Queen’s University Belfast. This year’s group of eighteen graduates from the School of Biological Sciences included a bumper harvest of five First Class Honours Degrees, with many already having found employment in the industry
- Developing a career in horticulture - from caretaker to technical supervisor
Thomas Simpson started working for the Parks Service of Ards Borough Council as a caretaker in 1982 and has moved through a series of jobs to his current post in the management team. Key to his career path has been his study at Greenmount Campus which is part of CAFRE. Starting his first course in 1996, Tom completed his NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture, and is currently studying the new Level 3 work based Diploma in Horticulture (parks, gardens and green spaces)

- Loughry Packaging Student wins International Accolade
Loughry student Gemma Seery has won the 2010 Starpak Award for the top student of the year on the Diploma in Packaging Technology. This prestigious award is presented annually by the Packaging Industry Awarding Body Company to the student achieving the highest marks on the Packaging Diploma course

Amy McGuckin from Castlederg has just graduated with her BSc (Hons) in Equine Management.

Over 1000 pupils, from schools throughout Northern Ireland visited Loughry Campus, College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise, Cookstown, as part of an innovative approach to supporting GCSE students studying Science and Home Economics and to develop their interest in food.

During the summer months of 2010, Greenmount will once again open its splendid gardens to the public. The gardens will be open on four separate occasions the first of which is happening this coming weekend (3rd and 4th July).
