Spring is in the air
15 February 2010

With the Valentine’s Day rush over florists are preparing for the Spring wedding season and at Greenmount, our floristry students have been developing their ideas for the new season’s bridal designs.

It’s a busy time in the floristry studios but full time students Amy Best, DKNI, Jordanstown, and Jeni French, Pink Kactus, Coleraine, have stepped out into the Walled Garden to add the finishing touches and photograph Amy’s bouquet.

An important part of the students’ work this semester is building a portfolio of designs for wedding bouquets and accessories. ‘Bridal work is a real challenge as you need everything to be perfect on the day - so practice on each new design is essential. This week’s bright sunshine was a great opportunity to enjoy a breath of fresh air and photograph our designs in the beautiful surroundings of garden’, commented Amy.
