Mother and Son share in their ‘Communicate’ success
19 August 2010 Majella Murphy and her son Eoin have much in common and now they can add “Communication qualifications” to the list. Majella has just graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Personal and Business Communication while Eoin graduated with an MSc in Communication in December 2008. Both mother and son are proud of each other’s achievements and appreciated the mutual support. After this years graduation ceremony at Loughry Campus, on 18 June 2010, Eoin said, “I am delighted to share in the celebration of my mum’s success and am proud of the fact that she made it through” In the summer sun Majella was enjoying the day’s events with her family, “I am so pleased that my family are here to support me particularly my son Eoin who encouraged and empathised with me every step of the way” Majella enrolled on the Advanced Diploma in Personal and Business Communication in September 2009 and completed the programme over one year of part-time study. “I am very grateful to have had this opportunity. It has bridged the gap between my earlier qualifications and the requirements of the labour market today. A major part of the course was working as part of a team and this one aspect meant that everyone supported each other to achieve their best”. The Advanced Diploma aims to provide people with the necessary communication skills required to work in business, community or rural development sectors. It offers a unique opportunity to get back onto the learning ladder, enhance career prospects and gain a recognised Queen’s University qualification. The programme is suitable for people at all stages of their careers and is particularly relevant for those who feel that the lack of qualifications is hindering their career progression. If you are looking for a course that will give you the confidence and skills you need to develop yourself and enhance your career prospects then the Advanced Diploma in Personal and Business Communication could be just what you are looking for. The next programme is scheduled to begin in September, 2010.
