18 August 2009

Looking for a successful career with virtually 100 percent employment and a starting salary of £22,000? Then come along to Loughry Campus Open Day at Cookstown on Thursday 27 August between 3 - 8 pm. Whether you are getting your results over the next few days or thinking ahead to next year, this is a great chance to check out what Loughry has on offer!

Derek McDowell, Head of Food Education at Loughry Campus, College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise in extending an invitation to the Open Day states “There has never been so much interest in food especially now in the current economic climate, where the food processing sector is better equipped to weather the financial storm compared to other sectors of the economy. The Northern Ireland food industry offers a wide range of exciting careers and the skills shortage within the sector has placed Loughry graduates in huge demand, with the majority of this year’s graduates securing jobs before they had even finished their final exams!”

Loughry offers courses in Food, Nutrition and Health, Food Technology, Food Management and Marketing, Food Design and Nutrition, Packaging and Communication. Courses are available at all levels from National Diploma, suitable for students with GCSE’s to Degree and Masters Degree, on a full and part-time basis. There are still places available through clearing for the Degree programmes, so apply today and clear your diary for three years of food and fun leading to fantastic job opportunities!

Facilities at Loughry are second to none and during the Open Day students can find out more about entry requirements, accommodation on site, the wide range of career opportunities and funding for your studies, which includes no top-up fees for degree students.

If you want to take the next step to an exciting carer in the food industry, then come along to our Open Day on August 27 between 3 and 8pm and get a taste of campus life. For more information on any of our courses or facilities freephone 0800 0284291.
