Loughry Campus Higher Education Information Evening
11 April 2012 Once again Loughry opened its doors to all those who had applied to their Higher Education courses through UCAS. There has been a recent upsurge in interest by school leavers for a career in the food and drink manufacturing industry and this was evident during the very busy evening with over 100 people attending the event. To help the prospective students consider the next step in their chosen career, they were given a tour of the food manufacturing facilities in the Food Technology Centre, as well as the academic facilities and on-site residential accommodation, concluding in an open forum question and answer session. The students have applied to study at Loughry, commencing September 2012, on the Food Design and Nutrition, Food Technology and Food Management and Marketing courses. These Honours Degrees and Foundation Degrees, which are validated by the University of Ulster, are suitable for those studying either A level Science, Home Economics or Business Studies and equip students with the qualifications and necessary skills to land that vital job.
