15 April 2010

Thinking of a career in the food industry? Want to know what campus life is like? Then come along to Loughry Campus Open Day, in Cookstown, on Tuesday 27 April between 3 - 8 pm and check out what Loughry has on offer!

The Open Day will provide a fantastic opportunity to find out more about the facilities and chat with staff: you might get some nice surprises, for example there are no top-up fees for degree students enrolling this year, which could save you up to £6,000 compared to studying at other higher education institutions.

First year student Gareth McAllister, decided to enrol on the National Diploma in Food Technology after his visit to the last year’s open day event at Loughry. As Gareth says “the open day really sold Loughry to me, the facilities were great, friendly staff and students and the prospect of real jobs at the end of my studies. Since starting Loughry I have not been disappointed, my course is very interesting as I never realised that there was so much went into processing our foods and student life in the halls is great.”

Loughry offers courses in Food Technology, Food Design and Nutrition, Food, Nutrition and Health, and Food Management and Marketing. Courses are available at all levels from National Diploma, through Foundation Degree to Honours Degree, both on a full and part-time basis.

If you want to find out why our graduates have virtually 100 percent employment, with starting salaries up to £22,000, then come along to our Open Day on April 27 and you too could crack open a successful career in the food industry.
