Two of our talented young florists were delighted to be placed first and second in the Northern Ireland regional heat of the RHS Chelsea Young Florist of the Year Competition, held recently at the British Florist Association Hub Meeting.

Florists from throughout Ireland had the opportunity to display their bridal designs for the competition and see a fantastic demonstration by leading European florist, Neil Whittaker at the event at Kelly Flowers Wholesale, Lisburn.

A single mark separated the top two florists who studied together at Greenmount on the full time floristry programme last year. Jacquie Seales of Penelope’s Flowers, Belfast, was awarded second place and Nigel Close of Momento Flowers and Gifts, Carryduff, won the competition. Nigel will now be invited to compete in the UK final in May at the RHS Show in Chelsea.
