Will you be my Valentine?
13 February 2009 That’s what the National Diploma in Horticulture students were encouraging staff and students at Greenmount Campus to say on Valentines Day when they were selling the planters they had prepared for the budding cupids. The full-time students are completing a module on Protected Crop Production and during the practical skills training were challenged to add value to a pot plant crop for the Valentines day market. “It’s been really interesting to see the customer’s reaction to how we have presented the plants and see how you could make more profit from a crop by adding wrapping and hearts” said Richard Calow from Belfast. “This is my second year on the course and we have covered a big range of skills and topics” For further details of Horticulture courses, full and part-time contact the College on 0800 028 4291.
