- FdSc Horticulture Study Tour - London 2009
Final year Foundation Degree Horticulture students recently returned from a 5 day tour of some of the ‘Horticulture World Class’ high points England has to offer. The tour, based in London, comprised a series of visits, including RHS Wisley, Wembley, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, and a very memorable bicycle tour of the parks and green spaces of central London!
- Students develop stock judging skills
Students from across Northern Ireland recently took part in a dairy stock judging competition as part of their NVQ Level 2 in Livestock Production. This course, offered by Greenmount Campus, CAFRE, allows them to work on farm and attend class one day per week.
- Food courses in demand
Loughry Campus, Cookstown recently threw open its doors to those interested in food courses and thinking of a career in the food industry. The Loughry Open Day provided the ideal opportunity to sample a flavour of the courses available at Loughry and get a taste of campus life.

Finalists in the Young Farmers’ Club’s Floral Art Competition, representing all six counties, recently enjoyed a floristry workshop hosted by CAFRE’s Greenmount Campus. The event provided the opportunity for the competitors to meet each other and tour the fantastic facilities available at the College for students studying horticulture and floristry
