Nutrition Awareness at Loughry
16 January 2009

With the increasing emphasis on the impact of food on our health the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) invited a number of schools pupils to a nutrition awareness training workshop at Loughry Campus.

The event highlighted the importance of food nutrition and a healthy diet, with successful pupils also obtaining the Certificate in Healthier Food and Special Diets, which is awarded by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).

The workshop was also an ideal opportunity for the pupils to find out about the excellent career opportunities in the food industry. Loughry has close links with the food and drink sector and all food courses at Loughry offer outstanding job prospects with virtually 100 percent graduate employment and starting salaries of up to £22,000. So it is no surprise that the pupils were keen to check out the wide range of courses on offer at Loughry. With National Diploma and Foundation Degree courses in Food, Nutrition + Health and Food Technology, as well as the Honours Degrees in Food Supply Management and Food Technology, with options in Food Nutrition and Health, there is certainly something to suit everyone.

If you would like more information on the courses on offer at Loughry Campus and are interested in an exciting and rewarding career in the food industry, contact us on Freephone: 0800 0284291
