Tyrone student wins Animal Genetics Award

David Kwasniewski, from Sixmilecross near Omagh, has succeeded in winning a £1,000 bursary from AI Services Limited. He is a student at the Greenmount Campus of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE). David is a former pupil of Omagh Academy, and has just commenced the BSc Agricultural Technology course offered in partnership between CAFRE and the Queen’s University Belfast.

David was delighted to receive the support from AI Services. Speaking from the Sixmilecross family farm, he said, “This bursary is a great boost at the start of my degree education and it is very encouraging that industry is willing to invest in people embarking on a career in agriculture.”

At the presentation ceremony, Dr Sam Campbell, Chief Executive of AI Services Limited, congratulated David on his thought-provoking report entitled “My view of farming in the year 2020.” In his spare time David works on the family farm and manages his own pedigree Suffolk sheep flock.
