Tuesday 23 June 2009, 6 - 9 pm (Open Evening – Communication courses)

Thursday 27 August 2009, 3 - 8pm (Careers Advice Day/Evening for September 2009 entry – All courses)

Loughry Campus offers courses in Food, Nutrition and Health, Food Technology and Food Supply Management. Courses are available at all levels from National Diploma, through Foundation Degree to Honours Degree and are offered on both a full and part-time basis.

Loughry has close links with the food and drink sector and you will find Loughry graduates employed in most food companies, right up to MD level. With virtually 100 percent employment for graduates, starting salaries of up to £22,000, no top-up fees and competitively priced accommodation on campus it’s time to take a fresh look at what Loughry has to offer. No top-up fees alone could save you up to £6,000 compared to studying at other higher education institutions.

Course Manager Peter Simpson outlines the advantages of Loughry’s National Diploma courses: “The National Diploma programmes are practical courses with continuous assessment and no exams. Loughry provides the opportunity to enjoy Campus life with accommodation on site and grants available for students. The ND is equivalent to three ‘A’ levels and students have progressed onto a wide range of Degree programmes, including Food Technology, Supply Management, Food Nutrition, Environmental Health and Dietetics. As well as the progression route there are excellent employment opportunities as local companies are constantly looking for good ND students.

The open evening will provide students with a great opportunity to find out what Loughry has on offer and will include:

  • Tours of the Food Technology Centre to see the latest technologies in action
  • Chats with current Loughry students to find out what they think about the courses and the social life on campus
  • Opportunity to meet with course tutors to discuss course content and entry requirements
  • Details on the range of excellent career prospects and salaries on offer
  • Information on the range of financial support on offer
  • Interactive food displays
